Simple Bathroom Makeover

 In Selling A Home

Before You Sell Your Home Do a Simple Bathroom Makeover!

Everyone knows that kitchens and bathrooms sell a home! Today’s post is all about the bathroom though and it doesn’t need to cost you a fortune!

Most buyers want a bright and clean bathroom, and the simplest place to start are the walls. Give them a fresh coat of paint. At the moment Gray is a trendy sought after colour, especially in the washroom as it pops off the white porcelain.

Next, give your trim and window casing a fresh coat of bright white paint.

If you have a dated vanity you may be able to salvage it. It depends on the colour. If it’s neutral keep it. If it’s an eyesore I would suggest replacing it. Again, it doesn’t have to be expensive. Shop used sites in your area, or even Ikea. They carry some great vanities at an affordable price. You could easily have one for less than $500.00.

If your tub and title surround are an ugly colour this may be just what you need:  Tub and Tile Transformation by Rust-Oleum. I haven’t tried it yet, but I heard it works like magic!

For dirty floors try an eco and homeowner friendly acid etcher that removes ground-in dirt from the surface and grout lines.

Once your washroom is fresh and clean I suggest popping into a Homesense or Home Outfitters for a few special touches. Most important are fresh white towels, a bathmat and a decorative mirror to place above your vanity.

Keep it simple and clutter free.
